Welcome!

What to Expect on Your First Visit…

You know what they say about first impressions, and your initial visit is very important to us. Settle in and relax, knowing that your caring dentist will be with you for the entire appointment, investing the time to truly get to know you, listen to any concerns, and gain the full picture in order to form the essential foundation for your care.

Our Satisfaction Promise to You

If you don’t have a great experience with us on your first visit, you don’t pay. It’s as simple as that. (Psst…no one has ever asked for their money back.)

Your Comprehensive Exam – The Starting Point for Your Care

Your initial dental exam is very thorough! Over 90 minutes, your dentist will carefully evaluate your overall dental health, including your teeth, bite, bone structures, and soft tissues. All of our new patients receive this comprehensive exam, as indicated by The American Dental Association. It includes:

  • decay detection
  • oral cancer screening
  • gum tissue examination
  • evaluation of how your teeth fit together
  • evaluation of your jaw function, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and associated muscles
  • appropriate options, if desired, for enhancing the appearance of your smile

You may have noticed that plaque and tartar removal (AKA, a tooth cleaning) are not part of this initial exam. Your cleaning is performed during a separately scheduled hygiene exam. This approach ensures that you receive the best and the most appropriate care by our professionally trained hygienists.

Your Personal Consultation

The information that we discover during the comprehensive exam helps us to formulate a complete diagnosis as well as a long-range treatment plan based on your particular needs. After your exam, you will have another visit for your personalized consultation – time set aside just for you – during which your dentist will explain their recommendations and make sure you have the best possible information concerning your options. We love to invest this time with you. It sets the foundation for success – your healthy, beautiful smile!

First Visits for Dental Emergencies

In some cases, your first visit with us may be due to an acute problem, such as injury, bleeding, or severe pain. The good news is that we can get you in quickly – usually the same day – for a shorter exam to address your immediate problem. After your dental emergency is treated, we will find a convenient time for you to return for a full evaluation and comprehensive dental exam.

We’re happy to answer any other questions you may have, or, if you’re ready, request your appointment here.
